Trainee SMO Charter Broker

Job Description

A world leading Air Charter Company are looking to recruit a Trainee Salvage Marine Offshore Broker to develop knowledge and understanding of different aircraft types and an understanding of the chartering business.

To be successful you will need to have the ability to communicate information and ideas through a range of media to various audiences, be able to work closely with clients to establish requirements and identify appropriate solutions, liaise with a wide range of people at all levels and across different cultures and to act with credibility, tact and diplomacy.


The key requirements of the role:
• Develop an understanding of the Salvage Marine Offshore industry on a global scale
• Assist the commercial brokers in preparing flight briefs and flight set up’s
• Assist and learn broking skills from members of the commercial and cargo teams
• Respond to Salvage Marine Offshore charter requests efficiently whilst creating a professional rapport with clients
• Maintain relationship with existing clients
• Exploring new opportunities and projects in the S.M.O industry
• Select appropriate aircraft to satisfy clients’ requirements, provide an accurate quote and establish effective dialogue with the client
• Liaise with airlines and handling agents on the client’s behalf to accurately produce flight briefs
• Build up relationships with airlines
• Look for new contacts / leads / tenders
• Communicate with other offices regarding S.M.O clients
• Keep up to date with activities of other passenger brokers using the appropriate network of communication
• Act as rep for a number of aircraft charters to gain experience of different aircraft capacities and their performances
• Public bids, Salvage Marine Offshore – monitoring and reporting
• Constant monitoring and reporting important market trends. (projects, economy, media, tenders)
• Ensure all invoices are raised with correct and accurate information


Successful applicants will:
• Be fluent in Dutch & English
• Be able to follow budgeting and invoicing procedures accurately
• Have good use of initiative
• Be highly self-motivated
• Have strong time management skills in order to meet tight deadlines
• Have working knowledge of computer hardware
• Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Have experience working in the Aviation / Salvage Marine Offshore industry would be advantageous

This role includes a rota basis at night; therefore you will need to be flexible to changing work hours.
