Job Description
Zenon is delighted to be supporting a very well established Helicopter Operator in sourcing a Maintenance Manager on a permanent basis located in Africa with flights and accommodation provided.

The Maintenance Manager shall report directly to the Technical Director. The Maintenance Manager leads the activities of the staff to ensure safe and efficient activities carried out within the Management Organisation. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for:

• Report daily to the Technical Director on aircraft status of availability, airworthiness, and production activities.
• In co-operation with the Airworthiness Manager ensure the implementation of the computerized maintenance management system and company technical records functions to the point where the systems are completely up and running.
• Have oversight of the rostering of engineering manpower at each base within the Company.
• Ensure the availability of sufficient certifying personnel, approved technical manuals.
• Monitor the status of the training currency of all personnel within the Company and advise additional training requirements.
• Ensure that the maintenance, repair, and modifications are carried out I.A.W the scope of the organization, the Maintenance Procedure Manual
• Ensure that each base within the Company has close liaison with the Logistics Department to support receiving inspection and parts certification compliance and also the disposition of quarantine parts.
• Monitor reliability and repetitive defects on company aircraft and aircraft systems in accordance with approved procedures.
• Promote the correct use of proper procedures and procedural discipline, awareness of Human Factors issues, cleanliness and personal safety.
• Initiate regular liaison meetings with production and flight operations at the Company bases.
• Ensure that customer, management and quality requirements shall be satisfied in compliance with the MPM and other relevant approved manuals, to assure a high standard of airworthiness and constant improvement of maintenance carried out with a minimum of non-availability.

Qualification and Experience:

• Approximately 20+ years of engineering experience, with growing responsibilities into a leadership role.
• At least 5 additional years of experience in a leadership role within an engineering environment.
• Hold valid and current recognized international license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with effective problem solving abilities
• Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with rotary wing aircraft.
• Experience working with Aviation Authorities and Regulatory Agencies.
