Zenon Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a well-established Airline in their search for a Ground Operations & Security Manager for their head office in the Eastern UK.

Our client is ideally looking for a candidate who has the knowledge and experience to cover both the Ground Operations and Security management position but are willing to consider applicants for only the Ground Operations role.

The Ground Operations Postholder is accountable to the Accountable Manager for all operational and safety aspects of Ground Handling Operations with responsibility for the following duties:

• Ensuring compliance with any Orders, Acts or Regulations which may from time to time be in force and which govern the Company’s operations.
• Overall management of the ground operations staff through delegation, to include establishment, training, development, and general administration.
• Liaison with the Civil Aviation Authority on all matters pertaining to ground operations.
• Promotion of safety awareness and actively encouraging open reporting and feedback.
• Departmental safety management in accordance with the Company MSM ensuring ground handling teams and any other contractors comply with the Company Safety Management policies as laid out in the MSM Manual.
• In conjunction with the Safety Department and Ground Operations staff, carrying out immediate investigations of all ground incidents involving company aircraft and or ground crew as applicable.
• Overseeing the responsibility for Dangerous Goods.
• Continual compliance monitoring of the Ground Operations department, responding to any non-compliance.
• Auditing of all parties providing ground handling to the Company, ensuring the contractual obligations of all parties are fulfilled.
• Financial overview and control of the department budget.
• Carrying out any other reasonable task as required in pursuit of Company efficiency and effective operation.
• In conjunction with Ground Operations staff, ensure all Handling agents meet requirements as detailed in Handling Contracts and Service Level Agreements.
• Maintaining, reviewing, and amending the Company Ground Operations Manual.
• Establishing and maintaining agreements for service providers to catering company aircraft.

The Security Manager is also accountable to the Accountable Manager and directly responsible for the following duties:

• The Company Air Carrier Security Programme (ACSP), its upkeep and amendment.
• Legislative and regulatory compliance, by the Company, regarding aviation security.
• Maintenance of effective liaison with all applicable Government and Airport Authorities including the DfT and the National Police Force on matters of security.
• Ensuring the Company always has an effective response capability to operational threats and occurrences.
• Presenting to selected Company Senior Management on a quarterly basis a report regarding the ongoing security risk/threat status within the Company AOC area.
• Reporting all actual or suspected acts which breach any Company or regulatory orders, pertaining to security, to the appropriate authority.
• The initiation of any special security measures, as may be required from time to time, during periods of increased risk and/or for security sensitive flights or routes.
• Ensuring that relevant Company personnel when joining the Company receive initial security training. In addition they are responsible for ensuring that relevant Company personnel receive recurrent security training as required.
• The production and ongoing review of security training presentations and courses required for initial and recurrent staff training. In addition the Security Manager is responsible for ensuring that all Company staff undergo initial and recurrent security training and that their training records are up to date. Training record upkeep is delegated to the Training Department for aircrew, maintenance for engineers and operational or admin staff by their line manager.
• The amendment and accuracy of Part A, Section 10 of the Company Operations Manual.
• Promotion of security awareness and vigilance throughout the Company workforce.
• Act as SeMS coordinator.

Requirements:

• Experience in a Ground Operations management role
• Previous experience as a Postholder/Form 4 holder is advantageous
